Svinøya was granted its first victualler's license in 1831. Today, Svinøya is still a small, vibrant fishing hamlet in Svolvær harbour. Short distance from the town centre. At Svinøya, we have welcomed visitors to our rorbu cabins and run the fishing station which is the very life nerve of the community, for almost 200 years
The rorbu cabins are idyllically located between the fish landing station, quayside buildings, fish racks and other traditional, local buildings. Here, you have the sea on one side, and the the spectacular Lofoten mountains on the other.
The fisheries are still of primary importance to the region, and the Lofoten Cod Fishery has always formed the basis of existence for the people here. Having the opportunity of observing these activities at close quarters in Svinøya, is an experience in its own right. We offer you a comfortable stay, with the Lofoten adventure on your doorstep!

Our boats are big and sea safe, with very experienced skippers.
09:00am:
- An interesting presentation on local sea birds and se mammals is given before departure.
- On board the boat a guide will be available to answer any questions you might have.
- Fish soup is served for lunch on board. Coffee, tea and bisques available.
02:00pm:
- The boat is back at the quay at Svinøya Rorbuer.
- Please note the guaranteed safari dates.
