In 1904 Odda was northern Europe’s most visited tourist destination. The tourists came from all over Europe to experience the impressive nature attractions in Odda like the waterfalls in the Odda valley and Folgefonna/Buarbreen glacier, not to mention the famous mountain formations in the inner part of Ringedalen valley; Trolltunga (the tounge of the Troll) and the Preikestolen (the Pulpit Rock). OpplevOdda takes you on a trip to Trolltunga and Preikestolen - two of Norway’s most unique nature attractions.
The trip starts in the Skjeggedalen valley in Tyssedal, and follows the path or the cable car up to Topp. From Topp there’s an amazing view towards the Folgefonna glacier National park. The trip continues in an easy terrain to Tyssebotn. There we will find the last potholes of the now dried out Tyssestrengene waterfall. Before the building of the hydro power stations in Tyssedal, this was the world’s highest waterfall!
The trip ends on Trolltunga and Preikestolen - two memorable nature attractions, with a great view to Ringedalsvatnet lake and Folgefonna glacier. And perhaps you will leave with a kick of adrenalin in your stomach?
Please bring normal hiking clothes and lunch box/snack.
