Opplev Odda invites you to a spectacular experience in the Tyssedal mountains! You will have the opportunity to feel how the everyday life was for the navvy people who built the waterpower stations, when they secured mountain constructions, founded the concrete fundament, hand carved bricks and established the penstock. In 1906 they started building the powerstation Tysso1. Mountain water was dammed up, waterfalls and waters were put in pipes. And the basis of the power production and the building of the industrial place of Odda were made.
We invite you to a spectacular experience in the Tyssedal mountains! You will have the opportunity to feel how the everyday life was for the navvy people who built the waterpower stations, when they secured mountain constructions, founded the concrete fundament, hand carved bricks and established the penstock. This is an introduction to Norwegian history within a fantastic nature frame.
The trip starts by NVIM (Norwegian Museum of Hydro Power and Industry) and the powerstation Tysso1. From the hydro power station we climb up the mountain along the penstock up to the guard house at Lilletopp.
If you’re normal fit and over 15 years, OpplevOdda wish you welcome on this experience. The price includes necessary climbing equipment and the trip lasts for 3-4 hours. Minimum of 4 persons. Booking 1 day in advance.
