Trolltunga and Preikestolen - Skjegggedal, Tyssedal, Odda
Odda was northern Europe's most popular tourist destination in 1904. The tourists came from all over Europe to experience the impressive nature attractions that Odda has to offer. The waterfalls in the Odda valley, the Folgefonna and Buer glaciers - and the two unique mountain formations at the centre of the valley, Ringedalen; Trolltunga and Preikestolen.
OpplevOdda will take you on a hike to Trolltunga and Preikestolen - two of Norway's most spectacular sights.
The hike starts in Skjeggedal, and you'll follow the path by foot or take the funicular to Topp. From Topp you'll have a stunning view of the Folgefonna national park. The trip continues on foot towards Tyssebotn. Here you'll find giant marmites, deep holes in the mountain, made by sand and stone rotating in the now drought Tyssestrengene waterfall. This was the world's fifth tallest waterfall, before the power station was built.
The hike ends at Trolltunga and Preikestolen. Two memorable nature attractions, with a stunning view of the Ringedal lake and the Folgefonna glacier. Plus, it should add some butterflies to your tummy.
