The youth museum

In the exhibition you can experience street life in the 1980s with Arild’s fastfood outlet and a telephone box where you can listen in on telephone conversations. In the 50s room you can sit on the sofa and listen to hits by Elvis Presley and Bill Haley on Radio Luxembourg. In the present generation’s youth room you can test your own talents as a pop star by singing a song on the Singstar. Or perhaps you prefer just to relax in a bean bag chair and read comics.

Spend time finding out what really engages young people and what is important to them. Have things changed much in the course of time? Are some things always on the youth agenda? All generations have something to say on this subject.

How do I get there?
Straumen is on the E6, 15km north of Fauske and 45km south of Kobbelv inn. Leave the E6 at one of the junctions to Straumen. The museum is in the same building as Bygdekroa (inn), with the entrance opposite Coop Prix.
