The best of our cultural history is created by people who put great demands on the shape and design. In a pottery in the historic Røros flourishes Norwegian pottery down from trønderkeramikkens heyday in 1917 - and 1800's.
Today we offer reproductions of trønder pottery from the 1800s and self-designed tableware. The ancient craft principles are valid even today. We use mostly the same tools and decorative techniques that were used in 17 - and 1800's.
Some of the finest objects in our cultural heritage were created by craftsmen working according to high standards of form and design. This heritage is continued at our pottery situated in the world heritage site Røros, Norway.
The collections at Potteriet Røors stem form the peak of Norwegian pottery crafts during the 18th and 19th century. During that period, decoration was a distinct feature, and it is equally present today, both in the certified reproductions and in Potteriet Røros` own range and designs.
We are today among the very few potters in Norway producing locally. There are not many who are still using the traditional decorating technique beginning, as we do. Therefore we can safely say that you get unique, Norwegian, handicrafts products when choosing ceramics from Pottery Røros.
