The Norwegian Mountain Museum at Jotunheimen National Park
The Norwegian Mountain Museum (Norsk Fjell-museum) takes you into the mountain world of Norway, and shows you how the interaction between man and nature has developed from the early days of primitive hunting and trapping to the present days of mass tourism, recreation and the use of natural resources.

Come along with us and experience, thanks to sounds and images, how man has made use of the mountain, how climate and nature have shaped the history and the culture, and how the mountain inspires and opens one's mind and senses. You can enjoy the exhibition "Norsk Høgfjell" (The high mountains), the tableaux "I Villreinens Rike" (In the kingdom of the wild reindeer), the film "Eit Fjelleventyr" (A mountain fairy tale), the painting exhibition "Fjellet gjennom 200 år" (The mountain during 200 years), and the electronic information pannel "Mogop".
The Norwegian Mountain Museum is situated in beautiful natural surroundings by the mighty waterfall Prestfossen downtown Lom. As closest neighbours you'll find the Lom stave church built in 1180, and the peaceful recreation area in Presthaugen with old farm buildings from the 18. century. The museum has its own shop, and in the cafe Fjellvåken, the famous Arne Brimi serves delicaciee from Nature's own larder.
