Dolmsundet hotel rises from Hitra Veikro (1983-1991), later Hitra Tavern and Motel, in the same area. The hotel was completed and opened in March 1991.
There is great emphasis on using materials with hittersk character. Granite walls and the façade is from Hernes by Kvenvær in Hitra municipality. Dolmsundet hotel as a private limited company established 27 July 2005. The people behind the company have long experience in hotel and hospitality industry and local.
