A 2-hour walk followed by a 3-4 hour climb of the Steindalsbreen glacier with an authorized glacier guide.
Summer program:
North of the polar circle, the sun never sleeps in the summertime. The same goes for us at Tromsø Villmarkssenter too.
In the summertime we have a lot of activities for almost all age. We can offer Husky outdoor excursion, Kayaking, glacier walking, mountain climbing and mountain hiking. For larger groups we can also offer wooden bath tub and husky visiting.
Winter Program:
Husky Trip
Travel the snow with a team of energetic Alaskan huskies! You can choose to drive your own dog sled or ride with one of our guides. Either way, you will enjoy impressive views over our local mountains and sea. Very nice for families!
Aurora Watching
Haven't seen the Aurora yet? Enjoy the darkness out at the wilderness centre on a "Aurora Borealis" visit. Here you can escape the city lights of Tromso and take magnificant pictures of the Aurora Borealis whilst enjoying the warmth of a Sami lavvo where you can grill sausage over an open fire.
Wintercamping & Dog Sledding
Sample a taste of Norwegian winter in comfort with a "Tent and dog" excursion. Sleep over in a mountain tent at the wilderness centre, enjoy traditional Sami food, help out with caring for the dogs and (or course!) enjoy dog-sledding....
Longtrips
We also embark on longer dog sled journeys - join us for a multi-day expedition and explore the wilder side of Troms’s unique natural environment.
Snowshoe Trekking
Explore the North-Norwegian spectacular winter landscape with a trekking trip on your own while using snowshoes.
