Hunderfossen Winter Park and Ice Hotel / Scandinavias southernmost Snow Hotel are located a mere 5 minutes from Hafjell and 15 minutes from Lillehammer town centre. Winner of the 2007 award for Scandinavia’s most innovative tourism idea. This is the first winter park in Europe.
Ice Cathedral and Ice Hotel - Scandinavias southernmost Snow Hotel
In the middle of the Winter park you will find the Snow Hotel. With elegant lighting and location close to the fairytale castle - an unique accommodation experience! The room temperature will vary from -3 to -7 degrees Celsius and you will have a nice and warm sleep in very comfortable sleeping bags and on sheep skin.
Open from 30th of December to 6th of March. Visit Scandinavia’s southernmost ice hotel – a truly unique experience! The hotel is located by the Fairytale Castle, in the very heart of Hunderfossen Winter Park. A spectacular building in snow and ice, with enchantingly illuminated ice and snow sculptures, unique rooms and a separate ice bar. An impressive Ice Cathedral for weddings and functions is also available. Access to the Ice Cathedral and Ice Hotel is included in the Winter Park entrance fee.
When the Winter park closes, the Ice hotel opens and will offer beautiful ice decorated rooms for guests who search for the unique experiences.

10th of January. A well-informed guide will show you the major attractions in the Winter Park, such as the Ice Hotel, the Ice cathedral and Ivo Caprino’s Fairytale Grotto. New for the year are Trollfallet – and you get to try to save the Princess in the Tower. The guided tour ends with snow rafting.
HUNDERFOSSEN WINTER PARK GUIDED TOUR:
Guided tour Wednesdays and Saturdays at 17.00 hrs. Duration approx. 90 min. A well-informed guide will show you the major attractions in the Winter Park, such as the Ice Hotel, the Ice Cathedral and Ivo Capriono’s Fairytale Grotto. New for the year are Trollfallet – and you got to try to save the princess in the Tower. The guided tour ends with snow rafting. The Ice Hotel and Ice Cathedral will be open from approx. January 10th.
