Hinnøya, the largest island with its 2198 square kilometers. Large mountain ranges, wide valleys and peaks up to 1200 meters give little impression that you're on an island.

Two long fjords, Gullesfjord from the north and south parts of Øksfjord Hinnøya almost in two. It is only approx. 7 km between fjordbotnene.

Harstad Hiking Association's route network and cottage situated on the northeastern part of the island where the terrain is not as alpine skiing, but more "fotvennelig." Yet there are peaks over 1000 meters Beach Peak (1081 m.) and Sæter Peak (1094 m).

Grytøya outside Harstad (ferry from Stornes) have alpine terrain with peaks over 1,000 m. which is readily available.

The two large islands and Andørja Rolla, which is reached by ferry from Harstad (50 min.), also provides many opportunities for varied trips.

Rolla, with its many lakes and Pine Hills, but also with peaks over 1,000 m. Rolla is the country's most water-rich island in relation to the flat content. Botanical Island is also exciting with 17 different orchids.

Andørja is Northern Europe's richest mountainous island with a total of 11 peaks over 1,000 m. The highest peak is Langli at 1277 meters above sea level the highest mountain on the island in Scandinavia.

Our trail Tjelsund Bridge - Ladle (Gratangen) binds us with tracks in northern Nordland and inner Troms. It is a 3-4 day walk with two of our cottages accommodation. The trail passes through varied terrain with partly demanding parties. On the trip, a visit to the old restored land Sami settlement Vilgesvarre / Blåfjell in Skånland municipality. Here you can stay in huts and have served Sami food.
