Gurvikdal Deep sea fishing center is the oldest center of fisherman's sharcks at Frøya. The center has existed since 1991, and rents out eight apartments. The deep fish center is well situated for cod fishing, as the fjord is a spawning ground for cod. Every apartment has a 19 feet boat of aluminum with a 40hp motor at one's disposal. This boat is included in the rent.
Gurvikdal is situated at Frøya, south-west of Tondheim. With car from Trondheim you take the classified road 714 to Orkanger, and follow 714 to Hitra. From Hitra there are signs to the neighbor island Frøya. To get to Gurvikdal, you take right after the tunnel and follow the signs to Nordskag. Then you will soon see the sign to Gurvikdal Deep Sea fishing center.

Try fishing from your own small boat or book a trip with Øyvær, the fifty feet deep sea fishing boat. A trip which often gives you the chance of catching fish of ten kilos or more!
Gurvikdal provides eight apartments of high standard with cooking facilities. Each apartment have their own small boat with a 40hp motor, echo sounding, elstart and handlebars with console. The apartments are rented on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday, or otherwise upon request. Gurvikdal deep sea fishing is one of the oldest operators at Frøya and has new owners from 2005
Facilities:
Gurvikdal Deep Sea fishing center offers a room for cleaning the fish, refrigerators and an ice machine. The center rents out fishing rods (NOK 100 per day / 500 per week), floating dress (NOK 100 per day / 500 per week) and we sell fishing equipment. The boats that follow the apartments are equipped with maps, oars and an anchor. Lifejackets are distributed at the center.
