Shorter or longer mountain trips with Icelandic ponies (max. 10 persons). Drop-in to our riding ground. Cabin and camping site. Fishing, boat hire, wooden bath tub. We cater for families as well as companies.
The farm, which is our base and starting point for riding tours, is uncultivated land of approx. 1000 acres and is located south (Usti) Hessdalen 670 m. The farm was registered as a separate use (matrikulert) at the end of 1700. It was the creation of the Mold-mine (about 15 km away) which laid the foundation for the mill.
Parts of the buildings are from the late 1700's, but are now as they were restored in the middle of 1800. The farm has not been fixed since 1945 and occupied the old buildings give the feeling that time has stopped and the horse goes with the picture. Brooks Farm is in the old papers referred to as shuttle-station - probably from the time a carriage road stopped here and we had to switch from wheels to the pack to continue.
We organize rides on Icelandic horses in Hessdalsfjella. Located in the beautiful mountain terrain, and a farm from the 1700's as our base, we offer experience and nature on horseback.
