Begin tour with Oslo
We start off our tour in Oslo on the Constitution Day, May 17. The climax of the day is the children parade, which ends in front of the Royal Palace, where the king greets the children from the balcony.
Not far from the Royal Palace, we have the Norwegian parliament, Stortinget (Where they decide how much they are going to increase the taxes!). On a nice summer day the park between the parliament and the Norwegian National Theater (not shown here) is a popular place to lay down and watch all the people on one of the busiest streets in Oslo. If you understand Norwegian you can also listen to the speeches live on the Internet as they take place.

To our right we now have one of Oslo's biggest attractions, Vigeland Sculpture Park. The park contains about 190 sculptural works and is the work of a single artist, sculptor Gustav Vigeland. Oslo has more than 50 museums and galleries. (For more information about Oslo follow this link.)

For information about art and museums in Oslo check out Henie-Onstad Center which have information about Norways largest modern art collection, or look in PLUTO which contain information about other art related sites in Oslo.

As for almost any place in Norway, you never have to travel far to find a place where you can enjoy cross-country skiing. Nordmarka is a very popular area both in the winter an summer time, and don't be surprised if you meet the king and the royal family out on a Sunday walk.
