Alver Hotel - North of the white bridge

The family – run Alver Hotel was established in 1959 in the rural surroundings of Alversund, on the farm where the well-known Norwegian author Amalie Skram spent much of her childhood, just a short distance to Norway`s most beautiful city: Bergen. After the opening of the new Nordhordland Bridge, the car journey to the centre of Bergen doesn`t take more than 25 minutes.
The construction of the Nordhordland bridge brought a world of new prospects to the districts to the north of Bergen. This popular bridge is now known as the white bridge. But the rural districts are determined to hold on to their traditions. Anne Sofie and Johnny Hilland run the well-known Alver Hotel. The entire hotel is seeped in the culture of these rural districts; especially in the pub, Skramkjellaren, named after the authoress Amalie Alver Skram who spent many a day on the Alver estate.
Only a half hour from Bergen centre, Alver is the perfect base for round trips in the districts of Nordhordland. The food is delicious, and the beautiful countryside around the hotel provides a rich variety of activities and adventure.
